Liberate Your Art Postcard 2

Coming home after a long day and finding a beautiful piece of art in the mailbox is so exhilarating! Today wasn’t a crazy busy day at work so the level of exhilaration was lower than Friday, but indeed the treat was just as exciting!

Thanks to Meg of tangerinemeg.com for bringing a burst of beautiful color into my day. Her artwork is just so vibrant and energizing. The piece I received is just beautiful with layers of primary colors just perfect for this “back to school” time of year. It made me think of the beginning of the school year particularly for the young students just learning all about primary colors.

There is a great deal of detail within the piece, but not to the point of taking away from the warm and simple appeal. I could see this as a lovely quilt handcrafted with love.

Thanks Meg and to all of you out there please take a peek at Meg’s site.

Enjoy!

A Sunset to Calm!

Green Flash Sunset
My attempt at capturing the Green Flash Sunset.

What a day! At various points throughout the day I wondered if the end would ever come! The end of the day came and all I wanted to do was relax and focus on anything mindless – no thinking allowed!

After receiving a text about the Green Flash sunset I contemplated dashing over to the lake to try and get a shot, but that would not be mindless! As the time grew nearer and nearer I couldn’t just sit by and miss what I hoped would be a great shot. With about 16 minutes to spare I hopped in my car and rode down to the E. 72nd Street Pier and captured the shot above along with a few more.

Not sure if I really saw a Green Flash, but I can say it was a sunset to calm the nerves and spirit after a very challenging day!

Enjoy!

Short Lived Euphoria!

The previous post is supposed to have incorporated a “mouse over” meaning that when you hover your mouse over the image you will see the before processing and then the after processing version.

I actually saw this work! Right here in my little composition window, but the moment I saved it and sent it on it’s merry way everything when phlatt! (yes I know that’s not a word) but I hope you get the gist!

I’m bummed… but this is what I felt about thirty minutes ago! Keep your eyes on this space because I am determined to have success!

I’m pleased as punch! I was able to successfully complete my first “mouseover” a technique that will show the ‘before’ and ‘after’ of a shot!

In case you can’t hear it in my words, I am definitely doing the “HAPPY DANCE”!!! Little triumphs like this just make my day! They also help me to justify the expense of taking these online courses.

My “Plan B” in life is to develop an enterprise that utilizes my passion for creating with words and photos into something that will help support me, I’m not there yet so at times I will question the expense. Again doing the “Happy Dance” and singing Yay!!!! Because justified or not this “Behind the Scenes” course has really been a great experience. Not only has it given me a lot of insight into things that I can do to improve upon my online experience it has also armed me with so many ideas and a whole new community of bloggers!

Today has been so “Beyond Awesome”! I hope you enjoy my “mouse over” and that you will take a moment and peek at some of my other work. As always comments are welcome – they help us to grow!

Have a Fabulous Friday!
